Grammy-winning performers Karim Sulayman, Alan Pierson, and Alarm Will Sound join forces with “young radical” composer David T. Little (The New Yorker) for the world premiere recording of What Belongs to You, winner of the 2025 Music Critics Association of North America award for Best New Opera. What Belongs to You tells the story of an American in Bulgaria who begins a long, unstable, and ultimately destructive affair with a hustler named Mitko. Based on the debut novel by PEN/Faulkner Award–winner Garth Greenwell, the opera captures a specific yet universal story: the search for self and the desire to belong amidst loneliness and enduring heartbreak.
