About NICK REVEL:

Nick Revel is a multi-GRAMMY® nominated violist, composer, producer, and educator based in New York City. As a founding member of PUBLIQuartet, he has redefined the boundaries of classical chamber music through bold programming, improvisation, and the championing of living composers—many from underrepresented communities. With PUBLIQuartet, Revel has performed on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert and at venues such as Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, The Met Museum, and international festivals including the String Quartet Biennale Amsterdam.
As a composer, Revel has been recognized by the American Composers Forum and received awards from Catalyst Quartet's CQ minute blind competion, the Golden Hornet String Quartet Smackdown, and Red Jasper. His genre-defying pieces have been premiered by chamber ensembles, soloists, and youth orchestras across the U.S. A Silver Medalist in Audio Engineering at the Global Music Awards, he merges his compositional voice with cutting-edge production techniques to create immersive sound worlds.
His solo project includes DragonScales: The Hero Levels, an innovative, video game-inspired etude book series for violin, viola, and cello. Featuring original music, story-based challenges, and cinematic backing tracks, DragonScales helps students build technical mastery through creative musical storytelling.
As a teaching artist, Revel leads residencies and workshops nationwide, empowering the next generation to explore composition, improvisation, and identity in music. In Spring 2025, he completed a residency with the Marywood University String Project, guiding students through a collaborative process to co-create and premiere a new work using an innovative musical notation system and improvisation. His interdisciplinary approach bridges classical tradition with contemporary expression, redefining what it means to be a 21st-century musician.
