These pieces chart Picker’s artistic evolution, showcasing his distinct compositional voice. Featuring performances by Peter Serkin, The Manhattan Quartet, Emmanuel Ax, Lynn Harrell, Fred Sherry, and others, the album highlights Picker’s deep engagement with instrumental storytelling. The title piece, Nova—a companion to Schubert’s Trout Quintet—playfully nods to a different kind of "Nova": Nova Scotia salmon.
