Grammy winning musicians Kayhan Kalhor, Karen Ouzounian, and Sandeep Das of Yo-Yo Ma’s Silkroad Ensemble join conductor Eric Jacobsen and the Greater Bridgeport Symphony with a series of globally inspired orchestral premieres. Adding even more virtuosity and excitement to the album are collaborative works with the New York Gypsy All Stars that bring a global music sensibility to the classical stage.

Hailed by the New York Times as “an interpretive dynamo,” conductor and cellist Eric Jacobsen has built a reputation for engaging audiences with innovative and collaborative programming. He is the newly-named Music Director of the Virginia Symphony, becoming the 12th music director in the orchestra’s 100-year history, and assumed that post on July 1.
